Soudan: Droits de l’homme

UELe Parlement a adopté trois résolutions distinctes ce jeudi. Il a appelé les autorités soudanaises à protéger l’identité religieuse des minorités. Il a aussi exprimé sa préoccupation face aux mesures de répression de plus en plus sévères et aux attaques physiques à l’encontre des médias et de la société civile en Égypte. Enfin, il a demandé la libération immédiate et sans condition des lycéennes de Chibok au Nigeria.

Soudan – l’affaire Meriam Yahia Ibrahim

Les députés appellent à l’abrogation de toutes les lois établissant une discrimination pour des raisons de sexe ou de religion au Soudan et demandent aux autorités soudanaises de faire en sorte que toutes les femmes enceintes et accouchant en détention reçoivent des soins de santé appropriés. Ils soulignent que l’adultère et l’apostasie sont des actes qui ne devraient aucunement être considérés comme des crimes. Par ailleurs, ils demandent au gouvernement du Soudan d’enquêter et de traduire en justice les personnes responsables de violations des droits de l’homme.

L’Union européenne devrait « jouer un rôle de premier plan et faire pression en faveur de la rédaction d’une résolution forte sur le Soudan lors de la prochaine session du Conseil des droits de l’homme au mois de septembre 2014, qui dénonce les violations graves et généralisées des droits de l’homme et du droit humanitaire international dans le pays », affirme le texte.
