Somalie : La Turquie met en place la première base militaire africaine en Somalie

la marine ou navy turqueLa Turquie a complété l’équipement de sa première base militaire en Afrique dans la capitale de la Somalie, Mogadiscio. La base accueillera des officiers militaires turcs chargés de former les soldats et les troupes somaliens dans leur lutte contre l’organisation terroriste Al-Shabaab. Elle sera opérationnel sous peu.

La base, qui a été approuvé par les Nations Unies, est la deuxième installation militaire d’outre-mer de la Turquie. Leur première base a été créée au Qatar en avril dans le cadre d’un accord de sécurité pour aider à contrer les menaces qui pèsent sur les deux pays.

Environ 200 officiers militaires turcs seront déployés à la base en Somalie dans la première étape pour former 10.500 soldats somaliens.

La Turquie a fourni une assistance militaire à la Somalie depuis plus de cinq ans, dans le cadre des accords de coopérations militaires et financières entre les deux gouvernements.

La Turquie a également fourni la nation africaine à plus de 400 millions de dollars dans la plus grande campagne d’aide pour le pays alors qu’il avait du mal à lutter contre la famine.
