Bab el-Mandeb/Houthis : Djibouti opposé à « l’Opération Prosperity Guardian » qui contrecarrera les menaces des Houthis…

Du côté de Djibouti.

Suite à une rencontre avec quelques collaborateurs de la présidence de la République de Djibouti, le président de la Djibouti, Ismael Omar Guelleh, a décidé de se désolidariser de la coalition internationale qui veillera sur la sécurité du commerce international au niveau du Bab el-Mandeb. Ayant déjà déposé une plainte contre Israël à la Cour Pénale Internationale sur le massacre de Gaza, le président de Djibouti a démontré son opposition à « l’Opération Prosperity Guardian » qui contrecarrera les menaces des Houthis, par le biais de son conseiller spécial, Alexis Mohamed, qui a publié sur son Twitter la position de la présidence de Djibouti.

La position floue de la présidence de la République de Djibouti et les liens d’intérêt entre la famille du président de Djibouti et les Houthis représentant une menace et un échec pour « l’Opération Prosperity Guardian » qui contrecarrera les menaces des Houthis.

Du côté de l’internationale.

Le porte-parole du Conseil de sécurité nationale, John Kirby, a déclaré mardi lors d’un point de presse à la Maison-Blanche que les navires et avions de plusieurs pays se joindraient aux États-Unis pour mener une surveillance et prendre des mesures défensives contre les rebelles Houthis qui ciblent les navires commerciaux dans la mer Rouge, dans ce qu’on appelle : « Opération Prospérité Gardien. »

Kirby a dit : « Dès le début, nous avons dit qu’il s’agissait d’une [initiative] qui nécessitait une action collective et internationale, et nous avons pu rassembler aujourd’hui, mardi 19 décembre 2023, un certain nombre de partenaires, dont le Royaume-Uni, Bahreïn, le Canada, la France, L’Italie, les Pays-Bas, la Norvège, les Seychelles, l’Espagne et bien d’autres encore pour relever ce défi ensemble », a-t-il déclaré. Kirby a également déclaré que les États-Unis et d’autres — dont 44 signataires, dont l’OTAN, l’ensemble de l’Union européenne et le G7 — condamnaient « dans les termes les plus fermes » les menaces et les actes des Houthis.

Du côté des Houthis du Yémen.

D’après le porte-parole du Mouvement yéménite d’Ansarallah, Muhammad Abdel-Salam : « La coalition annoncée par les Américains depuis “Tel-Aviv” n’affectera pas nos opérations dans la mer Rouge. » « L’objectif de la coalition annoncée depuis “Tel-Aviv” est de protéger “Israël” et non la navigation internationale dans la mer Rouge. » « Depuis le premier jour de nos opérations dans la mer Rouge, des frégates françaises, américaines et britanniques sont présentes et tentent d’abattre nos avions et missiles. » « Toute opération directe contre le Yémen élargira la bataille et le transformera en une guerre régionale et internationale aux effets catastrophiques imprévisibles. »

« Nous réaffirmons notre position selon laquelle nous n’autoriserons aucune compagnie maritime à traverser la mer Rouge vers l’entité ennemie pendant que la bande de Gaza est assiégée. » « Les navires appartenant totalement ou partiellement à l’entité ennemie continueront d’être ciblés jusqu’à la fin de l’agression, ainsi que les opérations de missiles et de drones. » « Nous communiquons avec nos frères palestiniens et les tenons informés de nos discussions avec d’autres pays. » « Les opérations maritimes se poursuivront, et il se peut qu’il ne se passe pas 12 heures sans qu’il y ait une opération contre les navires ennemis. »…
