Djibouti/Athlétisme : Ibrahim Hassan Bouh remporte le marathon de Beppu-Oita Mainichi à Oita de 2023.

Le dimanche 5 février 2023, Ibrahim Hassan Bouh, l’athlète de la République de Djibouti, a remporté le marathon Beppu-Oita Mainichi à Oita, dans le sud-ouest du Japon, avec un record de la compétition de 2 heures, 6 minutes et 43 secondes.

La deuxième place revient au Kenyanien, Daniel Kipchumba, qui a franchi la ligne d’arrivée cinq secondes plus tard et le Japonais Tsubasa Ichiyama s’est classé troisième avec un chronomètre de 2:07:44.

La 71e édition de la course a débuté devant l’aquarium Umitamago et s’est terminée au J-Lease Stadium.

« Avec la victoire et ce record du parcours, je suis très, très heureux. La course s’est bien passée. », a déclaré Ibrahim Hassan Bouh.

Le marathon Beppu-Oita Mainichi à Oita est une course annuelle de marathon masculin qui a lieu chaque année au mois de février entre les villes de Beppu et Ōita sur l’île de Kyushu au Japon.

Organisé pour la première fois en 1952 sous la forme d’une course de 35 km, le parcours du marathon en boucle commence au pied de la montagne Takasaki et atteint le port international de Kankoko à Beppu avant de rebrousser chemin vers le point d’arrivée au stade d’athlétisme municipal d’Ōita.

La course a le statut de course sur route Silver Label de l’IAAF.

L’événement est parrainé par The Mainichi Newspapers Co. et est officiellement connu sous le nom de marathon Beppu-Ōita Mainichi.

Le marathon attire environ 500 participants chaque année. La grande majorité des coureurs sont japonais ou basés au Japon. Un petit nombre d’athlètes internationaux sont invités à concourir chaque année, bien que d’autres athlètes étrangers apparaissent également dans la course à des fins de rythme.

On Sunday, February 5, 2023, Ibrahim Hassan Bouh, the athlete of the Republic of Djibouti, won the Beppu-Oita Mainichi Marathon in Oita, southwestern Japan, with a competition record of 2 hours, 6 minutes and 43 seconds.

Second place went to Kenyan Daniel Kipchumba, who crossed the finish line five seconds later and Japan’s Tsubasa Ichiyama came third with a time of 2:07:44.

The 71st edition of the race started in front of the Umitamago Aquarium and ended at the J-Lease Stadium.

« With the win and this course record, I am very, very happy. The race went well, » said Ibrahim Hassan Bouh.

The Beppu-Oita Mainichi Marathon in Oita is an annual men’s marathon race held each February between the cities of Beppu and Ōita on the island of Kyushu in Japan.

First held in 1952 as a 35km race, the loop marathon course starts at the foot of Takasaki Mountain and reaches the Kankoko International Port in Beppu before turning back to the finish point at the Ōita Municipal Athletics Stadium.

The race has IAAF Silver Label road race status.

The event is sponsored by The Mainichi Newspapers Co. and is officially known as the Beppu-Ōita Mainichi Marathon.
