Somalie : Un officier de l’armée abattu pour 100 dollars US dans le palais présidentiel de la Somalie.

Un officier supérieur du palais présidentiel somalien a été abattu par un soldat de rang samedi 31 décembre 2016, ont confirmé des responsables locaux.

Le chef adjoint du béret rouge de l’armée en charge de la surveillance du palais présidentiel somalien, le colonel Abdi Abdulle – plus connu sous le surnom de Qorgab – a été tué par une garde présidentielle après un conflit. Le tueur s’est échappé et est recherché par les autorités.

L’incident de samedi a eu lieu à l’intérieur du palais présidentiel dans la capitale somalienne, Mogadiscio. Shador Haji Mohamud, directeur de l’information de la présidence somalienne, a confirmé que le colonel Qorgab avait été abattu par un soldat.

Un autre officier supérieur, qui a préféré garder l’anonymat, a déclaré que le chef a été tué après un désaccord avec le soldat qui n’a pas reçu son salaire comme les autres militaires qui étaient sous les ordres de l’officier abattu.

Le tireur, militaire de rang, apprend que l’officier Qorgab avait récupéré le paie des militaires à la présidence auprès du ministère des finances et avait déjà distribué le 30 décembre 2016 les salaires à ces proches et amis en fonction dans la garde présidentielle.

Au lieu de lui donner son salaire ou une réponse logique, le colonel Qorgab a ordonné que le garde soit arrêté. Des coups de feu ont été entendus peu de temps après. « Déjà touchant un salaire de 100 dollars US par mois et se voyant emmerder de la sorte, le tireur sûrement immergé par l’abus de pouvoir a été emporté par la colère.», dit l’officier dans l’anonymat.

L’officier qui parle dans l’anonymat a rajouté : «  ces genres d’abus se produisent régulièrement dans l’armée mais ça n’a jamais fini tragiquement et crois que cette affaire amènera les responsables hiérarchiques et politiques du pays à revoir les traitements réservés aux militaires somaliens. »

Le palais a été à la scène de violence avant. En 2014, des militants appartenant au groupe rebelle Al-Shabaab ont attaqué le bâtiment fortement défendu, mais c’est le premier cas d’un tir d’initié.
